Hamilton’s Black Forest Inn ‘permanently closed until further notice’

First Published:

A landmark restaurant found in Hamilton’s downtown core has closed after 55 years of service due to financial constraints.

The restaurant announced it’s closure Friday morning on posts on social media saying it “will be permanently closed until further notice.”

Located on King Street in the Hamilton’s International Village, the restaurant served German and Austrian food for over 55 years.

The investment management group Forge and Foster bought the restaurant in December 2016, and the building has seen multiple seasons of renovations since.

The corporations that own the building and the restaurant went into receivership in March, and was closed “temporarily” since July.
