Police in Halton have arrested a 25-year-old who was in possession of a sawed-off rifle, along with a 16-year-old, after receiving reports of a “loud bang” in Oakville.

According to officials, police dispatched to the area of Victoria and Chalmers Streets on Monday evening just before 7:30 p.m.

Community members spotted two suspects fleeing the area in a vehicle, which officers located a short time later.

A sawed-off rifle was found in possession of one of the suspects, which police believed was the source of the loud noises reported earlier.
