Peel Regional Police are looking for any witnesses connected to the assault of a child on Sunday afternoon at Brampton Civic Hospital.

Officers say that around 1:45 p.m. a man had approached a 3-year-old child who was seated in a stroller at the hospital near Bramalea Road and Bovaird Drive.

The man allegedly touched the child before going to a different area of the hospital and committing an indecent act witnessed by adult visitors in the building.

Investigators arrested 31-year-old Brandon Ramnath from Brampton and charged him with sexual assault, sexual interference and committing an indecent act in a public place.

Ramnath was held for a bail hearing and appeared in a Brampton courthouse.

Anyone who was a witness or has video are asked to contact police.
