Six Nations police arrest 2 men after complaints of gunshots

Police have arrested two men Monday afternoon in connection to reports of gunshots being heard on Indian Line Road, Ont.

Officers responded to gunshots being heard at around 6 p.m. at a home on the rural highway. They allege that when officers approached the home, they saw a man holding a firearm.

The man discarded the weapon inside the home after police asked him to drop the firearm. Detectives say they determined that there was a second man in the home with that discarded firearm.

Police say they were able to get the second man to leave the home without incident.

Detectives say that they found several firearms, a prohibited weapon and ammunition from inside the home.

Six Nations police have arrested and charged 36-year-old Steven Scott from Ohsweken, Ont. for multiple offences including charges involving illegal possession of a firearm.

Officers also arrested and charged 40-year-old Kevin Thomas from Ohsweken, Ont. for unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Both men are remanded into custody pending an appearance at a courthouse on a later date.
