Niagara police continue search for woman, 68, missing for a month

Niagara police are renewing their appeal to the public for help in finding a 68-year-old woman who has been missing for over a month.

Galextra Kavanaugh was first reported as missing on May 27 after she was last seen around 1:55 p.m. in the area of Lundy’s Lane and Montrose Road in Niagara Falls.

Kavanaugh, who also goes by the name of Selma Paul, was then spotted around 2:32 p.m. that same day walking northbound on Victoria Avenue at Valley Way.

In an update Thursday, officers say Kavanaugh was last seen in the area of Bridge Street and Fourth Avenue heading towards Stanley Avenue in Niagara Falls.

Investigators describe her as a Black woman who is five-foot-six with brown eyes and brown and grey hair.

She was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black and white running shoes.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, option 3, ext. 1007730.
