Make your spring cleaning and wardrobe revamp sustainable this March by participating in Green Venture’s clothing swap!
How does a clothing swap work? Anyone who has good quality clothing they no longer need washes and brings these items in for donation, which are then counted and sorted. These clothes are all put out around EcoHouse for display. On the day of the clothing swap, people from the community are invited to come into EcoHouse to pick out clothes they like and keep for FREE!
Tickets for the swap are pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $5, Payment can be made on the day of with cash, or electronically by e-transfer, paypal, or credit card.
Clothing donations can be dropped off at EcoHouse (22 Veevers Dr) from March 8 to March 15. If nobody is at EcoHouse, you can leave your donation in the bin on the big red deck by the Ambrose Ave entrance.
***Please ensure clothing is in good condition, washed, and that the pockets are empty***
Don’t have clothes to spare? No worries, you can still take home clothing! If you are in need or just want an eco-friendly way to change up your wardrobe come by the swap on March 16, 2023.
If you are making a large donation (more than one bag or box) please email akira.ourique@greenventure.ca to arrange a drop off time, to help prevent the bin from overflowing.
We are looking for clothing of all types and sizes from children to adults, particularly professional wear and seasonally appropriate clothing.
We have clothing for the whole family and will have an entire room dedicated to children’s clothing. We have hundreds of items including:
Professional wear
Active wear
Sweaters
Shirts
Casual pants
Bras
Children’s clothes
Bags/purses
Coats and other outdoor gear
and more!
We can make no guarantees as to the types and sizes of clothing that will be available. All leftover clothing will be held for a future swap or donated to local charities.
The swap will be indoors and the number of people allowed at any given time will be limited to avoid overcrowding. Please arrive during the time window indicated on your ticket to help with crowd flow.
Plan to spend some time outside while taking in the beautiful grounds at EcoHouse.
Unfortunately our building is not wheelchair accessible – all entrances have at least a couple stairs leading up to them.
Masks are optional but appreciated and encouraged. If you are feeling unwell, please help care for your community by staying home. We will follow current public health guidelines at the time of the swap – please check back for any updates.
