Meals on Wheels executive director charged after allegedly stealing $118K

Niagara police have charged the executive director of Meals on Wheels for allegedly stealing more than $118,000 from the organization.

Officers received a report from Meals on Wheels on Oct. 29 of fraud involving the worker at the community organization located at 953 Elm St. in Port Colborne.

Police say the fraud had been going on for approximately 19 months.

On Thursday, investigators arrested and charged 55-year-old Anita Postma of Thorold with fraud over $5,000.

Postma is the executive director with the Meals on Wheels program.

Police say Postma was released from custody with a scheduled court appearance in St. Catharines for April 8.
