Four teenagers have been arrested following a series of unsuccessful robberies in Hamilton on Thursday.

According to a police release, four people wearing masks entered KC convenience around 9:30 a.m. on Parkdale Avenue North with a knife, demanding items from the owner.

Police say after a failed attempt, the group fled the area in a stolen white Honda van.

After calling police, officers say the owner quickly used a group chat with other nearby business owners to alert them to what had just happened.

Shortly after, the same masked group attempted to enter Big Bee convenience on Barton Street East, but the employee had been warned to the robbery attempt in the area, saw the masked group, and locked the door before they could enter the store.

Police say the suspects then went to the Wholesale Club on Barton Street East and tried to rob a vehicle in the parking lot, but they didn’t succeed and continued to flee in the white Honda van.

The escape led to a collision with another vehicle in the intersection of Nash Road North and Barton Street East.

Police say the four suspects fled the scene and were quickly found and arrested.

Veron Francois, 18, from Brampton and Takai Glen, 18, from Etobicoke face multiple charges, including two counts of robbery with intent to steal, disguise with intent, robbery with violence and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Investigators say two 16-year-old males are also facing robbery related charges.

All four teens are set to appear in court at a future date. Police say three remain in custody after a bail hearing on Friday.
