Crisis in Gaza worsens as Israel warns of long war with Hamas

Fierce fighting in the north of Gaza, as the Prime Minister of Israel says troops are advancing deeper into the strip, as hospitals struggle to treat the wounded amid desperate shortages of supplies and dire conditions.

More pain and suffering at the Jabalia refugee camp as Israeli airstrikes hit the area for a third day in a row.

The attack hit a United Nations sponsored school which is housing a large number of displaced Gazans.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says more than 9,000 people have now died in the strip since the war began.

Some stuck inside the cut-off enclave have begun getting out – another 100 foreign passport holders crossed into Egypt today, with 400 total expected to leave.
