The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce has announced plans for the third annual Hamilton Day, with expanded celebrations planned city-wide on the first weekend in November.
The “city-wide celebration of Hamilton and small business” will kick off with a concert from beloved band Dwayne Gretzky at New Vision United Church on November 2.
Lead up activities are set to continue the following day with a light up interactive event at Pier 8 from Quebec-based art company Creos.
Weekend celebrations will begin with the city abuzz with activities, programming and on-street entertainment through a collaboration with over 1,000 local retailers and restaurants, pop-up artisan and farmers markets, business improvement area partners and key tourism partners.
Wrapping up the fun will be a collaboration between the Chamber and the Road2Hope Marathon to increase awareness and participation for their two marathons.

The event is designed as an opportunity to support local, independent businesses and to celebrate Hamilton’s unique arts and culture sector.

Businesses looking to participate in the weekend of events can now register through the official Hamilton Day website.
The first Hamilton Day initiative was held in 1931 during the Great Depression to boost spirits and the local economy. The Chamber re-launched the initiative in 2021 to support local businesses amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s rendition marks a shift away from the business-centred nature of the event since its re-launch, with a spotlight on Hamilton’s music, art, culture and entertainment scenes.
