57-year-old man dies after falling from Mount Nemo Escarpment

A 57-year-old man has died after falling from the Mount Nemo Escarpment in Halton on Sunday.

Halton police say that the man was hiking with his fiancé and friends when he fell from the cliff side.

Life-saving measures were attempted on scene but he was ultimately declared dead on scene.

Officers say officials were on scene for over seven hours as the fire department attempted to recover the body from what they describe as difficult terrain.

The death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
