‘We can’t go at it alone’ : Horwath on State of Emergencies in Hamilton

First Published:

Hamilton mayor Andrea Horwath was here today to discuss issues going on in the city.

First issue she talked about was that Hamilton City Council has unanimously voted to declare three states of emergency when it comes to homelessness, mental health and opioid addiction, and the fact they need help to tackle these crises.

She also discussed the plan for Jamesville, as a builder planning to demolish vacant city housing townhouses for a mixed-income redevelopment is holding out hope that Canadian National Railway will drop its project.

And lastly, she discussed the ever talked about LRT, and gave us an update on when construction may begin.
