Two more charged in downtown Hamilton shooting in October

Police have charged two more people in connection with a shooting that happened last October in downtown Hamilton, bringing the total number of arrests in this case to five people.

Officers responded shortly after 1 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the area of George and Caroline streets, where several shots were fired inside of a home.

Investigators say an 18-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being shot.

On Oct. 24, police arrested and charged Malachi Oratio Alleyne-Smart, 22, of Hamilton.

One day later, officers arrested and charged a 17-year-old girl and 19-year-old Heather Nicole Raymond Couroux of Hamilton with aggravated assault and robbery with a firearm.

An arrest warrant was issued for Noah Alexander Mervyn Sheridan, 20, of Hamilton. He was taken into custody and charged on Jan. 18 with nine separate offences, including robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault and point firearm, among others.

On Thursday, police arrested and charged Dustin Alexander Curran, 24, with seven separate offences, including robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault and point firearm, among others.
