Suspects allegedly sell Toronto house while homeowners away

First Published:

A pair of homeowners in Toronto received an unwelcomed surprise when they returned from their business trip and discovered that their house had been sold without their knowledge.

Toronto police are investigating after two people impersonated Toronto residents, hired a real estate agent and sold a home that did not belong to them.

The real homeowners were reportedly out of the country for the month of January 2022 due to business.

During that time, a man and a woman allegedly used fake identification to personate the real homeowners and hired a real estate agent.

The home ended up being sold and new homeowners had taken possession before the real homeowners returned.

It was not until several months later that the real homeowners discovered that their property was sold.

Police are asking members of the public for help in identifying the pictured suspects wanted for fraud over $5000.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7310.
