Carlton Cards and Papyrus stores to close within weeks

Carlton Cards and Papyrus stores are closing in the coming weeks. The CEO says all stores across North America, including 76 in Canada will shut down. Schurman retail group says the closures will take place over the next four to six weeks.

The CEO describes it as a “difficult decision” but adds the company was unable to realign stores to fit today’s shopping environment. More than 1400 people are employed by the company.
