After looking at the numbers today we wanted to get some analysis as to what’s going on. Joining us now to help explain what’s happening to the markets and to our RRSP’s is Nick Bontis.

First, we’re taking a closer look at the numbers on the TSX. The graph shows us how the TSX has been performing over the last 12 months. This time last year we were sitting near 13,700 points.

Then in September there’s a high of more than 15,600 points. We’re down a lot from that high, but still doing better than this time last year. Overall, are we doing alright considering there has been such a drastic decline in the price for oil?

How low can oil go?

Will we see another big drop in gas prices?

RRSP’s — is there a safe investment choice right now?

Is there any good news or positive signs in our economy right now? Certainly, a low dollar means higher exports?

What other world economies are impacted by the oil decline? Russia, Venezuela.
