21-year-old man arrested for drug trafficking in downtown Hamilton

Hamilton police arrested a 21-year-old man Thursday for drug trafficking in the city’s downtown core.

Officers say they saw a man make several hand-to-hand transactions with other people outside Philpott Memorial Church at 84 York Blvd.

Investigators followed the man into the area of Robert Street and John Street North where he was taken into custody.

They say they found around 9.38 grams of fentanyl and cash on the man.

Police have not disclosed the man’s name, but have charged the man for carrying fentanyl and for proceeds of crime under $5,000.
