Hamilton SPCA expanding cat program with more feline care initiatives

The local SPCA is working to shine a light on its community cat program this month, as it expands the reach of its feline care initiatives.
The city has been grappling with what the SPCA is calling an “alarming” increase in the number of free-roaming, un owned cats.
The organization is now working towards a goal of helping 20,000 cats get access to medical care, by 2030.
If you live in the Hamilton area you might have noticed there are a lot of community cats.
The city has been dealing with a growing population of feral and unowned cats and the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA is highlighting a campaign to help these furry felines this month.
Working alongside Hamilton’s animal services, and the community cat network, the SPCA’s month-long push will see more cats getting free microchips and tags, regular access to food and water, and receiving the appropriate medical care.
Some cats have already benefited from this program, including aptly-named Pillsbury, who makes lots of biscuits, and has maintained his very relaxed demeanour since being brought in.
