If you’re a WNBA fan, Monday night was big.

Whether it was watching Paige Bueckers get tapped as the number one overall pick, or the display of culture on the orange carpet, the 2025 draft had something for everyone.

The University of Connecticut has a long history of producing number 1 draft picks for the WNBA and Bueckers being the first to go, only adds to that prestigious list.

As she comes off a NCAA championship win, it was no surprise that the Dallas Wings wanted her.

The 2025 season get’s underway on May 16, and this year, we’ll get to see the addition of the Golden State Valyries and next year, for us in the GTA, we will get to watch the Toronto Tempo get it start.
