Charges laid after attempted robbery at Burlington jewelry store

Halton police have arrested one man after a Monday afternoon attempted robbery at a Burlington Centre Mall jewelry store.
Police say around 4:40 p.m., four men dressed in all black, face coverings and gloves, armed with hammers entered the mall.
As the group approached Peoples Jewellers, they were confronted by a security guard before attempting to flee.
The guard was able to arrest one of the men, while the other three fled in a newer model white Honda Civic.
Sangang Dorjee, 18, of no fixed address has been charged with attempted robbery, disguise with intent and assault with a weapon.
No one was injured during the incident and nothing was stolen.
Investigators have determined that the Honda Civic involved in the attempted robbery was also involved in an attempted carjacking last month in Brampton.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact police at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.
