One person killed in three-vehicle collision north of Simcoe

Police are investigating a Tuesday afternoon crash north of Simcoe that killed one person and injured four others.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., two cars and an SUV collided on Highway 24 near Waterford.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say that an 87-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the same vehicle was airlifted to hospital.

The driver and passenger of the SUV were also taken to hospital, while the driver of the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries.

As of this time, there is no word on charges.

Authorities are asking anyone who was travelling on Highway 24 and witnessed the collision, or has relevant information, to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
