After flaunting his own formulated, poster-sized list of countries he intends to levy, U.S President Donald Trump appears to have laid out his global trade war strategy. Among the so-called “offenders” deemed by the White House, China was at the top of the list, hit with a 34 percent tariff on top of the 20% previously imposed. Japan was struck with a 24 percent levy, while the European Union endured a 20 percent hit.
