Flood watch issued for parts of Southern Ontario

The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) has issued a flood watch for parts of Southern Ontario today.
This warning is for the Niagara region, the southeastern portion of Hamilton and the eastern portion of Haldimand County.
Rain and freezing rain is in the forecast for much of Southern Ontario this week, with 30 to 50 millimetres expected to begin Wednesday morning, continuing into Thursday morning.
There is the potential for higher amounts of rain in localized areas due to thunderstorms.
Another 30 to 50 mm of rain is anticipated to fall over the weekend, which may increase the risk of flooding in areas impacted by the previous storm.
Residents are being advised to stay away from creeks, rivers and bodies of water at this time due to hazardous conditions and elevated water levels.
