Man charged after Hamilton police find stolen go-cart in waterfront encampment

A 31-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly stole a go-cart and other items from a local business and brought them to an encampment on Hamilton’s waterfront.
Police found the go-cart and other stolen goods while conducting an encampment compliance check along Van Wagners Beach Road on March 21.
A man who had recently been trespassed from a local property had the the following items in his possession:
- One go-cart
- Four Honda go-cart engines
- Fishing gear
- Other valuable tools
After recovering the stolen goods, authorities returned them to the owner of the local business they were taken from.
The 31-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failure to comply with probation.
