OPP charge two people in Delhi drug trafficking investigation

Police have charged two people as part of a drug trafficking investigation after a search warrant was executed Thursday at a home in Delhi.

Officers of Norfolk/Haldimand OPP street crime unit say at around 4:56 a.m. they executed a search warrant at a home on Imperial Street in Norfolk County.

They say they took two people into custody without incident after entering the home.

Investigators say that during the search of the property they found what they suspect to be fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, replica handguns, prohibited weapons, Canadian currency and drug-related paraphernalia.

Officers also recovered a red 1997 Honda FourTrax all-terrain vehicle which they say was stolen from a home in Norfolk County.

Police have charged 46-year-old Denise Stanley from Norfolk County with various offences including possessing Schedule I substances, and for possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Stanley is scheduled to appear at a Simcoe courthouse Tuesday.

Officers have also charged 47-year-old Kyle Young from Norfolk County with various similar offences, including driving while under suspension and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Young has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at a Simcoe courthouse Monday.
