Security is being boosted along the Canada-U.S. border as part of the federal government’s $1.3 billion plan.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police have already increased resources across the country, including more border patrols by officers, drones and helicopters.

The goal is to detect and disrupt the smuggling of fentanyl and other illegal drugs and migrants in and out of Canada.

On top of that, about 200 Ontario Provincial Police officers are helping out with border patrols in Ontario.

Alberta and Manitoba have also announced additional border security measures.
