Halton police seek help identifying suspect of Oakville sexual assault

Halton Regional Police are asking communities to help identify a man suspected to be involved in a sexual assault in Oakville.
Officers say a woman who was walking on Sovereign Street, just west of Jones Street, was approached by an unknown man Thursday just after midnight.
Police say the man subsequently sexually assaulted the woman. They say she then defended her self, causing the suspect to flee on foot eastbound on Sovereign Street.
The woman did not sustain any injuries.
Investigators are looking for a white man, aged between 50 to 60 years old, about five-foot-three to five-foot-four feet tall, with a small thin build, sunken face and a wiry beard.
They also describe the suspect as has small eyes that are “set close together.”
The man was last seen wearing a dark-coloured toque and a long sleeve shirt.
Police are requesting residents to remain vigilant while the incident is being investigated, and to immediately report any suspicious activities or persons to police.
Anyone with video or dash-cam footage between the midnight and 12:30 a.m. for Mar. 14, are asked to contact police.
