Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Canada’s premiers say they have agreed to reduce barriers to interprovincial trade and job mobility.

The announcement from Ottawa comes as the country scrambles to adjust to U.S. President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs that came into effect on Tuesday.

The First Ministers agreed that professionals with credentials in one jurisdiction should be able to work anywhere in Canada, and committed to developing plans for countrywide credential recognition by June 1.

They also said that they’re working to ensure that all Canadians have access to Canadian-made goods and services across the country.
