OPP charge Brampton man after crash, assault of officer near Burlington

A man from Brampton has been charged after causing a crash on Highway 403 near Burlington Sunday morning and for assaulting an officer.
Ontario Provincial Police say at around 8:41 a.m. a driver was reported to be driving erratically on the eastbound highway near Waterdown Road, before causing a collision.
Investigators say the driver did not pull over after the crash.
An officer of the Burlington detachment says when they were placing the driver under arrest for impaired driving, the man assaulted them.
Police have charged 25-year-old Manjot Singh from Brampton with offences related to driving while impaired, assaulting a peace officer, and for driving a vehicle while prohibited.
Singh was under a court ordered driving suspension for a previous impaired driving conviction.
They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at a Milton courthouse on May 26.
