Trudeau to meet with European allies on five-day work trip

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to fly to Europe Saturday for a five-day work trip, reaching out to allies and to speak on artificial intelligence.

Trudeau’s trip follows after the Canada-U.S. economic summit in Toronto Friday.

The prime minister will head to Paris, France to deliver a keynote speech at a global summit on AI.

The Prime Minister’s Office released a statement reading that at the summit, Trudeau will deliver a keynote speech on Canada’s role as a global leader in AI and “highlight the importance of working in partnership to develop these technologies responsibly and safely.”

He will also go to Brussels, Belgium, where he will meet with NATO’s secretary general to “reaffirm Canada’s commitment to the military alliance.”

Trudeau will also meet with his European Union counterparts to discuss security, Ukraine, and trade.
