Halton police are reporting that a cyclist was sent to hospital in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Oakville in the morning of Jan. 9, 2025.

Halton police are investigating after a cyclist was hit by a vehicle Thursday morning and sent to hospital in critical condition.

Investigators told CHCH News that they responded to a call at around 6:30 a.m.

They say the driver remained at the scene but that it was too early to speculate on charges.

Police say the cyclist is now in stable condition.

Officers posted on X just after 8 a.m. that they were closing parts of Dorval Drive north and southbound from the QEW to Speers road to investigate a collision at Dorval Drive and Wyecroft Road.

Police have reopened the roads after briefly closing them for a few hours.
