Former President Jimmy Carter dies at 100
Former President Jimmy Carter has passed away.
The Carter Center released a statement confirming that Carter died Sunday afternoon at his home in Plains, Georgia. He was 100 years old.
Carter spent roughly 22 months in hospice care before he passed away.
His funeral will feature an interstate choreography of grief, ceremony, and logistics characteristic of state funerals.
