Niagara police charge woman in St. Catharines apartment fire

Niagara police arrested and charged a woman whom allegedly started an apartment fire in St. Catharines Wednesday morning.
Officers say they responded to an apartment building that was on fire in the area of Bridge Street and Homewood Avenue at around 6 a.m.
First responders say they were able to extinguish the fire and one resident was able to escape without injuries.
Investigators say 38-year-old Lisa Dent had allegedly started the fire intentionally and charged her with arson with disregard for human life.
Dent was held in custody pending a bail hearing at a St. Catharines courthouse at a later date.
