Most of us hardly ever see bats. Not only are they nocturnal, but they also hibernate for most of the year — except for right around now.

We got an up close and personal look at what a wildlife control group here in the city gets up to on a daily basis, and it’s pretty unpredictable. They’re dealing with all sorts of different critters and creatures. But bats this year seem to be a popular one. They’re already seeing a ten percent increase in bat calls and they expect that to go up once August hits and the weather gets even warmer.

An unexpected guest in the CHCH newsroom caught everyone off guard. But it’s timing isn’t that unusual. That’s because it’s the start of bat season.
