Health Canada approves use of updated Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine

Health Canada approved on Tuesday of the new formula of Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine called Spinevax for use.

This follows after the department directed all provinces on Sept. 1 to destroy all of their older Covid vaccines to ensure the latest version will be the one used.

Spikevax includes an update to the antigen to combat the latest version of the Omicron variant of the virus.

Other vaccines from Pfizer and Novavax are currently being reviewed.
