Ronald McDonald House Hamilton broke ground today on their new serenity garden for families with sick children.
Fundraising in partnership with Dalton Timmis Insurance has raised over $195,000 for the project. CEO Chantell Tunney says the space will afford families a quiet space to collect their thoughts and find solace away from distractions.
“We’re going to have a beautiful garden that’s going to be a meditative and serene space for families that will be a direct contrast to the environment at the hospital and we’re looking at an outdoor kitchen and fireplace and waterfall, meditative space. This is going to be a garden that is four seasons, that will be available 365 days a year 24 hours a day.”
Fundraising for the serenity garden contnues. It’s expected to be complete by the end of summer.
