$11 billion – a lot of money – for the World Cup. Does it really pay off in the long run – especially considering that not all the attention is positive?

Does the world cup have a big impact on the world’s economy? For example, bars and restaurants will be packed around here — as people gather to watch their team. Do we see an economic boom when the world cup is on?

Something else we covered this week — a six hour work day. Sweden is giving it a try even though it’s already among the countries that have the least work hours. But it’s economy is doing well – in some ways better than Canada. Should we consider shorter hours?
