Canada’s house speaker apologizes after praising man who fought for Nazis

It’s being called an embarrassment, and unforgivable by some, as Canada’s Speaker of the House Anthony Rota, apologizes for honouring a Ukrainian veteran who fought with the Nazis during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s historic address in parliament.
NDP House Leader Peter Julian is calling for Rota to step down, saying a sacred trust between the role of the speaker and parliament has been broken.

The Conservatives are blaming the prime minister and his office saying state visits are ultimately Justin Trudeau’s responsibility, despite Rota saying the PM and his office knew nothing of the invite.
Jewish groups are also speaking out about the incident – outraged it happened.
