Snapchat users say they were left terrified after the app’s artificial intelligence system posted a live update to its profile and stopped responding to messages.

The “My AI” tool is built into Snapchat and typically answers questions and converses with users. But posting a live story for all users to see was a new one, a capability typically reserved for human users.
