Hamilton police investigate stabbing incident in Stoney Creek

A man was taken to hospital Tuesday night following a stabbing incident in lower Stoney Creek.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., police received reports of an injured man in the area of King St. East and Mountain Ave.

Initially, it was believed the man may have been assaulted at a nearby bar. However, police later determined the man’s injuries were self-inflicted.

He was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the incident was isolated and “all involved parties have been identified and addressed.”
