Heat causing safety issues on GO Trains

Metrolinx says it is monitoring rails in the GTHA due to a heat warning issued by Environment Canada.
Temperatures near or hotter than 31 degrees can cause safety issues that could temporarily slow trains on GO Transit and UP Express services. These temperatures cause “sun kinks” in steel rails, which causes bends in the rail. This can be a safety issues if trains pass over them too quickly.
