NDP health critic France Gélinas has introduced a bill that would require chain restaurants to post the number of calories of their food and flag ones with high sodium.

“The problem is that nobody sees them. They are under the counter someplace where nobody can find them. They are on a poster on the way to the bathroom way after you’ve made your order. The way it is available right now, only four per cent of the people in Ontario know that they exist and have seen them before.”

The NDP are also calling on the province to ban flavoured cigarettes. The bill will be put to a vote later today.
