The Equalizer is a thriller film based on the 80s television series of the same name, and is directed by Antoine Fuqua (Olympus Has Fallen). The film stars Denzel Washington and Chloë Grace Moretz. It premièred at TIFF2014.

These Final Hours
The Australian film is set on the last day on earth. With a mere twelve hours of life left, society quickly plunges into chaos. James (Nathan Phillips) is on a mission to attend the party to end all parties. But, his plans are derailed when he saves the life of a little girl who is searching for her father.
These Final Hours is rated 18A.
Tusk is a horror comedy written and directed by Kevin Smith, based on an idea he came up with on his SModcast podcast. It stars Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Génesis Rodríguez, and Johnny Depp. It is the first film in Smith’s True North Trilogy.
Long plays podcaster Wandering Wallace, who takes a trip to Canada in search of story. He ends up a prisoner of Park’s Howard Howe, a reclusive serial killer who has a strange fascination with walruses.
Tusk didn’t quite hit the horror or comedy mark for us – check out our full review – but we are still interested to see the rest of Smith’s Canadian adventures turn out.
Tusk is rated 14A.
