It was a bittersweet day for the Bosma family. Tim Bosma’s widow Sharlene accepted a 25-hundred dollar donation to Tim’s Tribute Thursday afternoon, just hours after attending a court date for her husband’s accused killers.

Let’s start with the good news. Tim’s Tribute, the charity Sharlene started to help other families affected by homicide got a big boost at the Hamilton RV Expo.

Leisure Days RV handed over a $2,500 cheque to Sharlene. The business is actually based in Ayr, where Tim’s remains were found. Thursday’s donation brings the total for Tim’s Tribute to $40,000. In addition, five dollars from every ticket to the RV show will go to the charity. All of that money helping to a cause that’s become very close to Sharlene’s heart. She says she’s been overwhelmed by the number of families who have contacted her, who have been through what she’s dealing with now.

Sharlene Bosma, Tim’s wife: “To have this many people already kind of identify how they can relate and they’ve shared some of their stories it’s definitely kind of wowed me just on that aspect of how many people out there are hurting.”

The Bosma family is still very much in the grieving process. Thursday Sharlene attended a court date for Dellen Millard and Mark Smich. They’re accused of kidnapping Tim and murdering him after he posted an online ad for his truck.

They both appeared briefly via video link. These frequent appearances are just part of the court process, something the Bosma’s have to endure until they go to trial. Their next date is set for February 27th.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story mentioned a specific online site, which says Tim Bosma could not have advertised the truck on their site. This reference has been changed.
