New Trailer // The Fault in Our Stars

Fox just released the first trailer for The Fault in Our Stars, an adaptation of the popular novel by John Green. The story involves two patients in a cancer support group that fall in love knowing that their love may not last forever. The film stars Shailene Woodley as Hazel, a girl who is constantly accompanied by an oxygen tank as part of her treatment. When she meets Gus, played by relative newcomer Ansel Elgort, he immediately falls for her and must break through her reluctance towards getting in a relationship.
As is the case with most book adaptations, it will be interesting to see how fans of the novel react to the trailer and subsequent release. The screenplay was written by Scott Neustadter who’s done love stories before writing 500 Days of Summer and The Spectacular Now, which Woodley also starred in and shared a special jury prize for acting with her co-star Miles Teller at Sundance last year. Woodley and Elgort will have some screen chemistry already as they both star in the upcoming Divergent adaptation.
The Fault in Our Stars also stars Willem Dafoe and Laura Dern. It hits theatres on June 6.
