Inside Llewyn Davis

Inside Llewyn Davis is the newest from true American masters, the Coen Brothers. Set in Grenwich village during the early sixties, Inside Llewyn Davis stars Oscar Isaac as the titular down-on-his-luck folk singer, loosely based on real-life folk legend Dave Van Ronk.
The Coen’s seem to take on a new genre or period in every film they make, and similar to previous efforts like Barton Fink or A Serious Man, Llewyn Davis sees their protagonist attempting to keep his head in a sea of troubles.
All of the music in the film was recorded live, however there were prerecords made for the soundtrack which feature artists like Bob Dylan, Nancy Blake, and Marcus Mumford who also acted as Associate Music Producer on the film. The film sees the Coen’s reunited once more with T Bone Burnett, the acclaimed music producer previously worked with them on The Big Lebowski and O Brother Where Art Thou.
One of the biggest stories is leading man Oscar Isaac who received his first Golden Globe nomination for his work. The film also features, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, Adam Driver, Garrett Hedlund and John Goodman.
