Jury has questions in Figliola case

The jury considering the fate of Maria Figliola has spent four days considering her guilt or innocence, but still hasn’t reached a verdict.
Figliola is accused of hiring a hitman to kill her husband Frank, who was found beaten on a path in Stoney Creek in 2001.
Today, the jury asked to review a video of police interviewing Jeff Goncalves, the man Maria was having an affair with.
Goncalves asked for a letter from Figliola, absolving him of any blame in Frank’s death. Maria gave him that letter, which ended up in police hands, and later as evidence in the case.
The jury asked if Goncvalves’ lawyer had any obligation to open that letter, which the judge told them no.
The jury will continue to deliberate tomorrow morning.
