Magnotta preliminary hearing begins

Updated One of the most highly anticipated and sensational legal trials in Canadian history began its preliminary stages in Montreal this morning.

Today the defence lawyers for Luka Magnotta requested that the hearing be held in a courtroom closed to the public. Magnotta is accused of killing and dismembering a Chinese student and mailing his body parts across canada.
