Canada receives invite to major trade talks
Prime Minister Stephen Harper has announced Canada has been invited to join negotiations for the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Harper made the announcement after meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama at the G20 Summit in Mexico.
Canadian officials have been lobbying the Obama administration to allow Canada into the talks.
Many believe the deal will have more economic strength than the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Mexico has also been asked to join the partnership.
