There is word of a deal aimed at solving the escalating student crisis in Quebec.

The news comes after a vicious clash between protesters and police in the town of Victoriaville Friday, that resulted in one protester losing the use of one of his eyes.

Student groups have agreed with the provincial government on a roadmap to get out of the three-month impasse.

It was announced Saturday by student and union leaders after negotiations dragged on for 24 hours in Quebec City.

Details of the government’s offer are not yet known, and the agreement will have to be put to a vote at student assemblies.
